Brunchcito with Pupcito

Updated: Feb 5, 2020

Brunch - what runs a basic girls heart and a must for Sundays.

Here are our recommendations: (Not in any particular order)

1. Cafe Consciente

Patio, Mimosas, Garden with games for the Kids, and 100% Pet Friendly

Stepping into Cafe Consciente is stepping into a restaurant filled with love. The consciente (conscious) part of the name comes from the theme of inclusion. Inclusion of people that are usually looked over when it comes to jobs and opportunities. You'll find them here, in this house turned restaurant in Zone 14.

Anyways, inside and outside there are no boundaries to where your pup can be. We do recommend to try to go on off hours if you have a bigger pup because the place does get packed. And if your puppy isn't the best with people walking by them all the time, a nice outing in the family might not turn into one. And if it's stressful, just order the flight of mimosas and go with the flow....

@cafeconsciente

Address: 3 ave 16-21 zona 14, Guatemala

Pros: Completely Pet Friendly Cons: Limited parking, Busy, Close together tables (Might be uncomfortable for larger breeds)

2. Cafe Despierto

Pizza for Breakfast. That is all.

Brunching at Cafe Despierto is like being invited to your best friend's house and not having to stress or worry about anything. There are all of your brunch staples (omg those pancakes!) and pizza for breakfast. As for the pups, this is a favorite spot for all of your pups. So make sure your doggy does well seeing others. The tables are far apart enough that you can have your own little bubble of peace with a beer in hand...

@cafedespierto

Address: 16a Calle, 0-51, Zona 14 Pros: Diverse Menu, Tables are far apart (Great for larger breeds)

Cons: Limited parking,

3. Cafe Barista

Coffee snobs, welcomed.

Maybe not the most elaborate of menus... but have you tried the coffee? For brunch days that you just want something simple, want to sit outside and not complicated, this is the place for you.

@baristalovers

Address: 14-01 10 Avenida, Zona 14 Pros: Parking, Great coffee, Tables far apart (Good for larger breeds) Cons: Only patio outside is Pet Friendly, few tables

4. Plaza La Noria

Decisions, decisions... not ready for those.

When you aren't sure what to eat, the best place to go is to La Noria. There's a little bit of everything (we recommend Splendido!) Since there are tables in the shared area, the best thing is for everyone to just choose their own food, lunch/brunch/whatever you feel like!

Address: 10 Avenida 12-30, Zona 14 Pros: Parking, A lot of tables and far apart

Cons: Many of the restaurants do not let pups inside (but there are a ton of tables in the shared area to choose from)
